Google has raised the price of the Google TV Streamer to $149.99, a $50 increase over the $99.99 the device launched at in 2024. The new pricing is already live on the Google Store and Best Buy, though other retailers were still listing it at the original price as of Monday afternoon, with Amazon among those holding the line.
The jump is steep for a device that had previously seen $20 discounts during the holidays. Google confirmed the change in a statement, tying it directly to component costs. “Due to rising component costs, we are adjusting the U.S. pricing of select Google Nest cameras, doorbells and Google TV streamer 4K, effective August 31,” the company said, adding that it remains “committed to providing our customers with industry-leading smart home security and continuous feature updates.”

RAM pricing is reportedly the driver behind the increase, and the same pressure has already shown up across Google’s lineup, with the Pixel 11 series and Pixel Watch 5 reflecting the new reality. The Google TV Streamer carries 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.
The adjustment does not extend across Google’s entire home ecosystem. The Google Home Speaker remains priced at $99.99, with the company reportedly having factored in the component increases when it launched in June. Various Nest Cams, however, are seeing price increases alongside the streamer as part of the same effective-August-31 revision covering select cameras and doorbells.
For shoppers, the practical takeaway is that availability at the old price is now a matter of which retailer moves first. Those still listing the Google TV Streamer at $99.99 offer the clearest value, but stock at that figure is unlikely to persist as the new pricing propagates.
